Need Mac Help’s Top 10 iPhone Apps – App #1

Thursday, December 11th, 2008

Sifting through the App Store in iTunes can be a daunting experience.  There are so many iPhone Apps, and many are games (with questionable entertainment value).  We like Apps that are fun, but also elegantly designed and useful (even if the end use is to make us laugh when we’re having a bad day).

So before you take up space on your iPhone with potentially useless and unnecessary Apps, check out Need Mac Help’s ongoing series of our Top 10 iPhone Apps (that we like right now).  Nota bene: this top 10 list is in no particular order and is certainly not exhaustive.

Today I’m going to talk about our App #1 in our list, Google Mobile.

Google Mobile App

There have been many posts written about this App, but for those of you who aren’t in the know, the Google Mobile App provides incredibly fast and easy access to information with instant access to Google Search.  For starters, you can search with your voice so you don’t have to type.  And if you really want to use the keypad to search, Google Mobile gives you relevant search suggestions as you type.

Google Sync for BlackBerry update announced

Friday, November 21st, 2008

Like many New Yorkers (as I saw on NY1 the other day), a lot of our clients are BlackBerry users.  The BlackBerry Storm was released today, and I haven’t had a chance yet to take a look at it, but I wanted to let all you BlackBerry users know that Google Sync now has two-way contacts sync for Blackberry.  Google announced this a couple of days ago on its Mobile Blog.  I’ve had a few clients who use Gmail contacts and Google Calendar and have had some sync issues lately, so I know that this is going to be a big help to them.

Google has nice instructions on the Mobile Help section of its site.
